These are a new breed of trucks that are more in tune with what pickup consumers actually need. So which one is the better choice? Find out more here.

Powertrain and Performance

These two models come with very different powertrains that result in different power outputs, capacity ratings, and fuel economy estimates.

  • Chevy Colorado: The base Colorado comes standard with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. The 2017 Colorado is rated by the EPA at 19 mpg city/24 mpg highway in the base configuration with a standard six-speed automatic transmission.* It can tow up to 3,500 pounds with this engine when properly equipped.*
  • Honda Ridgeline: All models of the Ridgeline get a 3.5L V6 engine that makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Ridgeline is rated at 19 mpg city/26 mpg highway based on EPA estimates with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.* The front-wheel drive Ridgeline can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and all-wheel drive models can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Capacity and Capability

The Ridgeline delivers a best in class payload capacity of up to 1,584 pounds with the all-wheel drive model in the RT trim. The Colorado can’t keep up with its rating of only 1,440 in the base model, and up to 1,532 pounds at higher levels. The Ridgeline also offers a 7.3 cubic feet in-bed trunk. It locks to keep your cargo secure, and it even includes a drain plug so you can use it as an ice chest for tailgating down at Soldier Field.

Features and Options

The Ridgeline comes standard with multiple power outlets, driver and passenger one-touch windows, and map and glovebox lights. None of those features are standard on the Colorado. All those extra amenities will make travelling in the Ridgeline just that much easier.
