In EPA ratings the CR-Z has achieved up to 36 mpg city/39 mpg highway* when equipped with a continuously variable transmission. That all adds up to a fun-to-drive and efficient package.

One especially useful part of the CR-Z design is its ability to fit up to 25.1 cubic feet of luggage thanks to the hatchback body style. The Honda CR-Z is also well equipped with upscale features. Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, push button start, electric parking brake, a rearview camera, automatic climate control, and more.

Take a look at some highlights from recent reviews of the current 2016 Honda CR-Z:

  • J.D. Power: “The 2016 CR-Z features a sporty look as well as a high-tech powertrain, both of which are sure to please enthusiasts and eco-minded drivers alike. The front-wheel-drive, 2-seat hatchback features aggressive exterior styling that makes it look fast, even at a stand-still.”
  • Edmunds: “This small, sporty hybrid coupe is lightweight, steers quickly and parks easily. A sleek exterior and adventurous dashboard design make it one of the more attractive designs among its more futuristic or merely pragmatic competitors.”
  • The Car Connection: “The Honda CR-Z sets out to do what only a few vehicles in history have done: blend high efficiency with a high-style, hot-hatchback profile. Like the BMW i8—only not so extravagantly engineered – the CR-Z mashes up its fuel efficient hybrid powertrain with the profile of a sporty two-seater.”
  • Kelley Blue Book: “Clearly, the CR-Z is not for everyone. But if you’re a forward thinker on several levels, care for the environment, won’t do without some zing in the drive and don’t mind letting people know your tastes can run to edgy, this could be the car for you.”

Future Models

2016 Honda CR-Z displayThe Honda CR-Z has been on the market for six years, and it will not see a refresh. The sporty little hybrid will be discontinued later this year, and Honda will not introduce a replacement. The new Honda Accord Hybrid will be the closest thing to a replacement, but that is, of course, a completely different vehicle, and not nearly as dramatically styled as the existing CR-Z.

Anyone who is attracted to the CR-Z should get on board now, and drive one at Community Honda of Orland Park, because the small hybrid hatchback will soon no longer be available.
