The 2014 Honda Civic Coupe vs. the 2014 Kia Forte Koup

2014 Honda Civic Coupe

Honda Civic coupe has long been a favorite choice among drivers looking for a reliable and affordable car. This year’s 2014 Honda Civic Coupe comes with a number of improvements including exterior changes, tighter suspension, and new features like a blind spot camera. However, there are some other models on the market that may also be of interest, like the 2014 Kia Forte Koup. This year’s Kia Forte has been fully redesigned. Are those changes enough to keep up with the Civic? Let’s take a look.

Vehicle Price

The Honda Civic is known for its affordability and this doesn’t change with the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe. Starting at $18,190,* it already takes the upper hand over the Kia’s MSRP of $18,600. That may not seem like a huge difference, but it will grow when you consider going to higher trims or adding in features. To boot, the higher-priced Kia offers many of the same standard features as the Honda like Bluetooth and iPod Connectivity.

Fuel Economy

The EPA has rated the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe with the CVT transmission at 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway.** With numbers like these, the Kia Forte Koupe pales in comparison. It’s rated at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, which would be more normal for a larger midsized car. For a compact, those just aren’t great. And that’s with a six-speed automatic transmission, it won’t provide the same smooth acceleration as Honda’s CVT.

You’ll be paying more to start and even more over the course of ownership with Kia. It’s quite hard to see why you would.
